A past client of mine and now friend, Nesta, asked if I would be up for joining her in a photo scavenger hunt around the city. Her company has it as a game/contest, and they break into teams of maximum 9 people. They are given a list of around 300 items that they need pictures of and one of the team members needs to be in the photo. Some of the items were really easy like buying a bag of chips, and others were more difficult such as 3 redheads and 3 bald men in one photo! I said, yes, that sounds like fun!
So, we got together on Saturday around 11:30am at a cute coffee shop in Tribeca. http://www.kaffe1668.com/
After our coffees, we headed over to our first stop, the Brooklyn Bridge. One of the items was a suspension bridge. Here's a photo of Nesta taking a picture of someone. Funny, she kept getting asked to take pictures of people!
Next we headed over to the FBI building where she had to wear an FBI hat or sweatshirt, which we bought across the street. Then we went to midtown and headed to the river where we took a picture with the Intrepid (aircraft carrier) and a cruise ship, the Norwegian.
We stopped for brunch at a place I've walked by many times and always wanted to try: 44 & X. http://heaveninhellskitchen.com/ The food was delicious, I had the mediterranean salad and Nesta had the huevos rancheros.
From there we went to Times Square, and the Jewelry District where we needed to get a picture of her wearing a 5 carat diamond with the sales associate! We definitely had fun looking at all the diamonds and picking out what we liked!
Next stop was Rockefeller Center for the flags and then St. Thomas Church for the Gothic style. We went to FAO Schwarz for a life-size stuffed animal, took a picture with a bear! Stopped by the Plaza, Landmark building, and were going to have a party in the hotel lobby (one of the items in the Scavenger hunt) but there were no seats for us!
We decided to head back downtown and stopped at Union Square Best Buy for a picture with a Sony Walkman, which I didn't even know they actually made anymore. After that it was hotel lobby party time! We went to the W, Union Square, got seats at the bar and a glass of wine. We needed to recruit some people to "party in the lobby" with us, and luckily we met some nice people who were willing to participate! We ended the day perfectly, and overall it was a ton of fun, with lots of walking around this beautiful city! It turned out to be the perfect day for it, sunny and blue skies!
On the way home we realized it was the longest amount of time (8.5 hours) we had ever spent together at one time, even counting all the times we spent hours looking at properties together before we found her the right one! Thanks Nesta for inviting me to join you, I had lots of fun!
This is a picture of a lake in Central Park that I thought was beautiful!
